All About Us

St Peter’s Kindergarten was established over 20 years ago providing a high quality early years’ experience. We offer term time places for children aged 3 to 4 years.

The Kindergarten operates in line with the same term time dates as St Peter’s Catholic Primary School making it easier for families to collect siblings from both school and pre-school.

We offer a variety of sessions that will suit each family’s needs - please see our Funding and Session Times section for full details.

Kindergarten Curriculum

Kindergarten represents the starting point for our curriculum at St Peter’s and as such we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) which allows us to monitor and assess the children’s development through their play. We follow their interests and key life experiences to provide quality and exciting areas of learning for them to explore and develop their skills further. We recognise that each child is a unique individual that learns and develops in their own way, and the learning environment is developed to support this.

The Early Years Team work closely together so transitions are much easier and smoother when it is time for your child to start their Reception Class year.

Funding and Session Times

Funding

We provide funded sessions for 3 and four year olds, this is provided via two options:

  • Universal 15 Hours Funding-this Government funding is available for all 3 and 4 year olds, this can be accessed from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday.
  • 30 hours funding -this funding helps working parents with childcare costs.
